Hydrolite ZG BSL is a highly cationic indicator resin that can react with cations in water, causing a noticeable color change. Initially, this resin is green, but when it becomes ineffective, it changes to blue—a very noticeable color difference. ZG BSL color resin is primarily used to test the conductivity of cations in water exiting a mixed-bed column of steam and condensate. The resin is filled into a transparent ion-exchange column with a diameter of less than 50 mm. The resin converts trace elements in the water into acid, improving the accuracy of cation measurements. When the resin becomes ineffective, its color changes to blue, allowing you to monitor the column’s performance by observing this color change. ZG BSL color resin can be used together with ZG BSY anion resin (or strong basic anion resin) to pack the transparent mixed bed ion exchange column as an indicator resin in the mixed bed column.
