1. Introduction
Hydrolite CD 550 resin is a cation exchange resin containing a sulfonate group (-SO3H ) in a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer with a macroporous structure. It is used primarily as a catalyst in the chemical industry for esterification and ether bond degradation reactions, particularly for the catalytic synthesis of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE).
